Back in the 90s, when fruit acids were used in chemical peelings for the first time, only the most courageous beauty lovers dared to use the very aggressive treatment. However, the days when people didn't dare leave the house for three days after a professional peeling are over. Nowadays, almost no-one can be scared off by the word acid – many cosmetic products for everyday application contain (besides nourishing ingredients) AHA acids, which are considered a miracle weapon against signs of skin aging and impure skin when used correctly.

One thing is certain – anyone who includes products containing fruit acids in their beauty routine will certainly have an AHA-experience. Consistent use of skin care products containing AHA leads to a fresh, youthful appearance and an even, radiant complexion. The shooting star among fruit acids is the particularly effective glycolic acid which can be found in Dr. Tonar Cosmetics NIGHTIt occurs naturally in sugar cane and young grapes. With the smallest molecular structure of all AHAs, it penetrates deep below the skin surface, activating cell regeneration. The skin cells in the uppermost skin layer are removed gently and cell renewal is stimulated and accelerated, thus increasing the skin's ability to absorb skin care products. At the same time, fruit acid (due to its low pH value) stabilises the skin's acid protective layer, making it more resistant. The skin surface is more delicate, smoother and softer.

AHA acid is an all-rounder: Generally, fruit acid is suitable for all skin types and is even recommended by dermatologists for sun-damaged skin. Both mature skin and skin prone to impurities benefit from the versatility of AHA acids. Due to their skin rejuvenating effect, they are also a popular ingredient in many anti-aging products. No wonder – AHAs have many positive effects! Among other things, they

- stimulate the body's own collagen and elastin production

- increase the moisture content of the skin

- reduce wrinkles and fine lines

- brighten up pigmentation spots

- reduce enlarged pores and impurities

- make small scars fade or disappear completely

Beware of sunlight and pre-existing conditions: A slight tingling sensation and warm feeling when applying skin care products containing AHA in the evening show that the skin is activated and the fruit acid has an effect. While you can now look forward to the famous glow, you should make sure to protect your skin from sun rays in the morning with a SPF of at least 30. If you have allergies or existing skin diseases, you should check with your physician before use.
